Government must take responsibility for land issues, says Etela Rajender

Telangana land issues: Etela Rajender seeks accountability

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender on Tuesday said the government must take full responsibility for Telangana’s land issues. He questioned why nearly 70 lakh farmers still face land-related problems years after the state’s formation.

Speaking as chief guest at a round table meeting on Dharani and Bhu Bharati land reforms, Etela said people did not demand Telangana only for statehood. He said they sought justice for farmers. He asked the government to explain how so many land disputes surfaced despite repeated claims of reform.

Etela alleged that authorities took away Dalit lands on a large scale. He accused the government of failing to take clear corrective action. He warned that land struggles would intensify if officials continued to ignore farmers’ grievances.

At the meeting, speakers said unresolved issues in the Dharani and Bhu Bharati systems pushed farmers into distress across districts. Etela said land movements have long shaped Telangana’s history. He cautioned that protests would continue without decisive government action.

Etela Rajender urged the state to resolve pending land disputes immediately and said the government must restore farmers’ confidence. He added that the state cannot avoid accountability on issues tied to livelihoods and social justice.
