Kavitha Rules Out Return to BRS, Eyes 2029 Polls

Kavitha

Hyderabad: Kavitha, President of Telangana Jagruti and former MP, on Monday ruled out any return to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi. She said she would instead contest the 2029 Assembly elections.

Addressing a press conference during the Janmabata programme in Jogulamba Gadwal, Kavitha said she would stay with the people and continue fighting for public issues, irrespective of election schedules.

Kavitha rules out BRS return, focuses on people-centric politics

Kavitha said she remained closely connected with citizens even during her tenure as an MP through the “Hamara Gaon, Hamara MP” programme. She added that internal pressure and conspiracies within her former party never pushed her away from public service.

She highlighted the poor state of development in Jogulamba Gadwal district. Although the region holds strong historical and cultural significance, she said it lags in education, employment, irrigation, roads, and healthcare. She also expressed concern over low female literacy and urged the government to act without delay.

The Telangana Jagruti chief flagged illegal sand mining, damaged roads, and rising tipper-related accidents in the district. On healthcare, she said inadequate facilities at government hospitals in Gadwal and Alampur force residents to seek treatment in Kurnool.

Kavitha also stressed the need for stronger political representation for minorities, particularly Muslims. She said parties must promote new leadership instead of repeatedly favouring members of the same families.
