TGMREIS AI literacy program highlights innovation

Hyderabad: The TGMREIS AI literacy program enabled over 2,000 students from government schools to showcase artificial intelligence-based innovations, marking one of the first large-scale initiatives of its kind in India.

The program was implemented across seven districts with participation from 40 schools and support from 61 volunteers. It was conducted with assistance from United Welfare Hyderabad, Centific and Swinfy.

Officials said the TGMREIS AI literacy program focused on equipping students with practical skills by encouraging them to develop solutions for real-world challenges. Participants designed applications addressing education, healthcare, sustainability and social welfare.

Students developed a range of AI-driven projects. These included an AI Course Explorer to guide college selection, ‘Warm Hearts’ for clothing distribution, ‘GiveLife’ for blood and organ donation support, and ‘GoGreen’ to promote organic farming practices.

As part of the TGMREIS AI literacy program, students also worked on eco-friendly manure solutions and ‘ParentConnect’, a platform aimed at supporting parenting needs. Officials said these innovations reflected a strong focus on community impact.

Minister Azharuddin praised the students for their creativity and emphasised the importance of responsible AI usage. He said such initiatives would help build future-ready skills among young learners.

The program highlighted the growing role of technology in education, especially in government institutions. Authorities said the initiative aims to bridge the digital gap and prepare students for emerging opportunities.

The government reiterated that empowering students with AI knowledge remains key to fostering innovation and supporting long-term development goals in Telangana.
