Telangana private bus fire leaves AC travel bus gutted in Mumbai
Hyderabad: All 36 passengers escaped unhurt after a Telangana private bus fire completely destroyed an AC travel bus near Borivli in Mumbai on the morning of January 20, 2026, after smoke began billowing from the engine compartment.
The bus, operated by Venus Travels and registered in Jagityal district of Telangana, was en route to Maharashtra when the driver noticed smoke emerging from the rear engine area as the vehicle approached the Borivli stretch. Acting swiftly, the driver pulled the bus to the roadside and evacuated all passengers. Moments later, the vehicle was engulfed in flames and burned to ashes on the road.

Initial information suggested that the Telangana private bus fire was triggered by a short circuit in the engine section. The AC bus had departed from Jagityal earlier and was carrying 36 passengers at the time of the incident.
