Revanth Reddy launches Rythu Bharosa fund release
Hyderabad: Revanth Reddy on Tuesday launched the Rythu Bharosa fund release by crediting financial assistance into farmers’ bank accounts and said the Telangana government had spent nearly Rs 1.75 lakh crore on farmer welfare during the past 30 months.
The Chief Minister, along with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, formally inaugurated the statewide fund transfer at Shilpakala Vedika in Gachibowli. Moreover, he said the government’s priority was to strengthen agriculture and enable farmers to cultivate with dignity.
Revanth Reddy said the government implemented welfare measures despite financial constraints. He stated that the administration waived farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh, benefiting 25.35 lakh farmers with loan relief worth Rs 20,677 crore, describing it as one of the country’s largest farm loan waiver programmes.
He said the annual investment support under the Rythu Bharosa scheme had increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000. According to him, the government had already deposited more than Rs 27,000 crore into farmers’ accounts and released another Rs 9,000 crore in the latest instalment.
The Chief Minister also said the government spent nearly Rs 30,000 crore over the past 30 months to provide free 24-hour electricity to the agriculture sector. Furthermore, he highlighted investments in paddy procurement, crop insurance, bonuses for fine paddy, farm mechanisation, irrigation projects and agricultural infrastructure.

Revanth Reddy said the government introduced the Bhu Bharati system in place of Dharani to resolve land-related issues transparently and protect farmers’ rights. He added that the administration continued to pay salaries, pensions and welfare benefits while maintaining financial discipline.
The Chief Minister urged farmers to adopt crop diversification and cultivate crops that require less water while generating higher incomes. He also assured them of quality seeds, technical guidance, marketing support and other assistance to improve agricultural productivity.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the Congress government was fulfilling every promise made to farmers through Rythu Bharosa, the farm loan waiver and bonus payments. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said releasing Rs 9,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa within nine days reflected the government’s commitment to the farming community, while Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy reaffirmed the government’s focus on farmer welfare and irrigation development.
