Golconda police mobilization drill conducted at Masab Tank
Hyderabad: Police conducted a Golconda police mobilization drill at the Hockey Grounds in Masab Tank. DCP Golconda Zone G. Chandra Mohan supervised the exercise to test emergency response and rapid deployment.
Officials organised the midnight drill to strengthen law and order preparedness. The exercise followed instructions from Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar. He had directed the force to improve emergency readiness across the city.
Around 650 personnel participated in the exercise. The participants included Home Guards, constables, inspectors and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)-rank officers from all police stations in the Golconda Zone.
During the mock exercise, officials tested how quickly personnel could mobilise and reach a designated location during an emergency. The drill also examined how teams coordinate during unexpected incidents. Officers focused on ensuring a quick and disciplined response.

Police officers also reviewed coordination among personnel at different levels. Senior officers explained the responsibilities of each unit, from Home Guards to ACPs. They also stressed the importance of following instructions from zonal control systems.
Officials checked the availability of equipment required during emergencies. They also tested whether the equipment functioned properly. The teams inspected public address systems, riot control gear and other operational materials.
DCP G. Chandra Mohan personally inspected the arrangements at the venue. He also assessed the alertness of personnel deployed around the Hockey Grounds during the midnight drill.
Speaking on the occasion, the DCP said public safety remains the primary responsibility of the police. Therefore, he said the force must stay ready to mobilise quickly during critical situations.
He added that such drills improve police preparedness. They also help ensure a quick and effective response during emergencies. Finally, he appreciated the efforts of Golconda Zone personnel in maintaining law and order.v
