Ghatkesar highway harassment: Police begin probe after dashcam video surfaces
Hyderabad: Police have started gathering details after a dashcam video allegedly showed a group of bikers chasing and intimidating a family’s car on the Hyderabad–Warangal National Highway near Ghatkesar. Although no formal complaint has been filed, officers said they would identify the accused and take strict action.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 7.30 pm on June 21 when the family was travelling from Ghatkesar towards Uppal. According to the victim’s relatives, several youths on motorcycles overtook the car and repeatedly signalled the driver to stop.
The bikers allegedly kicked the vehicle, banged on its doors and shouted at the occupants while speeding alongside the car. As a result, the family panicked and continued driving without stopping.
The victims later shared dashcam footage of the incident on social media. The videos quickly drew attention and raised fresh concerns about road safety on the busy national highway.

Bhargavi, a relative of the family, said the miscreants became more aggressive after noticing that women and children were inside the vehicle. She added that the children cried throughout the ordeal as the attackers struck the car and shouted at the occupants.
The dashcam footage reportedly captured the entire incident, including the loud noises caused by the bikers hitting the vehicle. Bhargavi urged the police to trace the accused and ensure they faced legal action.
Meanwhile, Ghatkesar police said they had not received any complaint about the incident. However, officials confirmed that they had begun collecting information based on the videos circulating on social media. They also assured that they would identify those involved and initiate strict action in accordance with the law.
