Revanth Modi meeting focuses on Telangana needs

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and sought the Centre’s support for key development projects, higher financial assistance and the resolution of pending issues related to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog. During the interaction, the Chief Minister discussed several projects that require central assistance and highlighted Telangana’s development priorities.

Revanth Reddy urged the Prime Minister to ensure the timely release of funds due to Telangana and requested support for infrastructure and welfare initiatives being undertaken by the state government. He also raised issues that have remained unresolved since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and sought early intervention from the Centre.

The Chief Minister stressed the need for greater cooperation between the state and the Union government to accelerate development and improve public services across Telangana.

During the discussions, Revanth Reddy appealed for higher allocations to Telangana in the upcoming Union Budget. He said additional financial support would help the state implement major development programmes and complete ongoing projects.

The Chief Minister also presented Telangana’s concerns regarding pending bifurcation-related matters and sought a resolution to issues affecting the state’s interests. Officials said the discussions covered a range of development-related subjects and future cooperation between the Centre and the state.

The meeting assumed significance as Telangana continues to seek increased central assistance for infrastructure, economic growth and welfare initiatives. The state government expects continued engagement with the Union government on key policy and funding matters.
