Owaisi Politics Compared to Manusmriti Ideology

Owaisi Manusmriti Ideology Remark by DCC Chief

Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Congress Committee president Syed Khalid Saifullah on Tuesday alleged that there was no difference between the mindset of the Owaisi brothers and the ideology of the Manusmriti.

He made these remarks while addressing Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations held at Narsing Nagar on Uppuguda Station Road in the Old City. The programme was organised following a call by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, drawing party leaders, workers and residents in large numbers.

Saifullah stated that such thinking contradicts the values of equality, justice and fraternity established by B. R. Ambedkar. He emphasized that Ambedkar devoted his life to ensuring equal rights and dignity for all sections of society.

Owaisi Manusmriti ideology reflects control by a few, says Saifullah

According to Saifullah, any ideology that concentrates power among a limited group goes against the spirit of the Constitution. He referred to a past remark by late AIMIM leader Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, stating that it reflected a belief in family-controlled politics.

Furthermore, he alleged that the same approach continues under Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi. He claimed that arrogance leads to the impression that electoral victories are guaranteed, which he said mirrors the Owaisi Manusmriti ideology where power is restricted.

Saifullah also highlighted that Ambedkar strongly opposed such systems. He urged citizens to question such structures and support governance based on equality and fairness. He added that the Congress party promotes inclusive representation.

During the programme, floral tributes were paid to Ambedkar, and participants collectively read the Preamble to the Constitution. Several speakers reiterated the continued relevance of Ambedkar’s ideas in modern India.

Saifullah recalled the Mahad Satyagraha of December 25, 1927, when Ambedkar publicly burned the Manusmriti as a protest against caste discrimination. He noted that the act symbolised resistance against inequality and oppression.

He further explained that the event occurred during the Mahad Conference, where Ambedkar led a movement for equal access to public resources such as the Chavadar Tank. The resolution to burn the Manusmriti was moved by Gangadhar Neelkanth Sahastrabuddhe.

Concluding his speech, Saifullah said Ambedkar’s vision extended beyond caste issues to all forms of inequality. He urged people to uphold democratic values and follow Ambedkar’s path.
