Hyderabad: Falaknuma police conducted a special mobile phone detection drive and recovered 20 lost and stolen mobile phones worth approximately ₹3.5 lakh, officials said on Tuesday.

The recovery followed a focused operation by the staff of Falaknuma Police Station as part of ongoing efforts to curb mobile phone thefts and provide relief to the public. Police said they used technical analysis, the CEIR portal, IMEI tracking, and coordinated field enquiries to trace the devices from different locations.

Officials said the recovered mobile phones were being handed over to their rightful owners after due verification. The initiative, police said, reflected the commitment of Hyderabad Police to leverage technology for effective crime detection and public service.

Police advised citizens to promptly report the loss or theft of mobile phones at the nearest police station or through relevant online portals to enable timely action.

Mobile phone detection drive praised by SHO

The Station House Officer appreciated the efforts of the staff involved in the mobile phone detection drive and urged continued public cooperation to maintain law and order.

Those commended for their role included SHO A. Seethaiah, DI Jakeer Hussain, DSI B. Mahesh, Head Constable B. Satish Kumar, and Police Constables Ch. Dasharath, D. Nikhil, and M. Rahul. Officials said such targeted drives would continue to deter theft and improve recovery outcomes.
