Adilabad student suicide shocks Pathan village

Hyderabad: A 16-year-old Class 10 student from Pathan village in Adilabad district died by suicide on Tuesday. She allegedly consumed pesticide after feeling distressed over a discussion with her parents.

Police said the girl was in a relationship with a 17-year-old boy from Akurla village in Bela mandal. Both were minors and students. When her parents learned about the relationship, they advised her to focus on her studies and avoid distractions.

Following the conversation, the girl reportedly became upset and later consumed pesticide. Family members rushed her to a hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. The incident left the family in shock.

Boy critical after Adilabad student suicide

After hearing about the girl’s death, the boy allegedly attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at his home in Akurla village. His family noticed his condition and immediately shifted him to a hospital.

Doctors treating the boy said he remains in critical condition. Police visited both villages, recorded statements from family members, and began an inquiry to determine the sequence of events.

The incident raised concern among local residents. They urged authorities and parents to ensure better counselling support for adolescents and to handle sensitive issues involving minors with care.
