BRS protest with three members against Congress frauds
Hyderabad: BRS leaders staged a protest against the Congress government in Bichkunda town of Kamareddy district, where former MLA Hanmanth Shinde warned people not to believe what he called the deceptive promises of Congress leaders.
The BRS organised the protest on the occasion of Sankranti. Party leaders demanded the immediate completion of road widening and central lighting works in Bichkunda. Shinde said the projects had moved at a snail’s pace for the past two years despite earlier approval.
BRS activists took out a rally from Kammarigudi to Ambedkar Chaurasta in the town. They raised slogans such as “Road Banao, Bichkunda Bachao.” To draw public attention, activists burst firecrackers near houses and at major intersections.
Addressing the gathering, Shinde said the previous BRS government had approved the road expansion and central lighting projects. He alleged that the Congress government failed to complete the works even after 25 months in power.
Shinde said that during his tenure as MLA, authorities completed the two-lane road renovation from Maddela Cheruvu village to Kandarpalli village. He added that officials halted further work after the Assembly election code came into force.
He also accused the Congress of using Bichkunda Math, which he claimed had been turned into Gandhi Bhavan, for party programmes. Shinde expressed anger over the continued political activities of the Math’s head, Somayappa Swamy. He urged the religious leader to stay away from politics and focus on the development of Bandayappa Math.
BRS Mandal president Venkatrao Desai, along with leaders Nalchar Balaji, Nalchar Srinivas, Yada Rao, Dr. Raju, Pitla Saikumar, and several party activists, participated in the protest.
