Hyderabad: The BRS accused the ruling Congress in Telangana of vote chori, saying its leaders’ names were removed from voter rolls.

The party cited the case of Kadam Vanitha, ex-sarpanch of Adegama-B village in Ichoda, Adilabad. It alleged that her name and her husband’s name were shifted to another constituency ahead of the local body polls.

BRS blames Congress for vote chori in Adilabad

The BRS claimed this was a clear attempt to silence opposition voices. It said the move showed Congress was using the same practices it often criticises the BJP for.

The party added that targeting ex-sarpanchs was undemocratic. It described the manipulation of electoral rolls as an attack on free participation.
