Chilkalguda Police trace missing 85-year-old

Hyderabad: Chilkalguda Police traced an 85-year-old missing man and safely reunited him with his family after finding him wandering alone in the Secunderabad area.

The elderly man, identified as Shaik Ismail, a resident of Khadri Bagh in Amberpet, had left home on May 22, 2026 for evening Namaz but did not return. Police later found him wandering in the Chilkalguda area and took him into protective care.

Initially, the elderly man could not provide complete address details. However, after continuous enquiry, he informed police that he lived in Moula Ali and that his son worked as an auto driver. Police then began efforts to trace his family through publicity and field-level verification.

Chilkalguda Police trace family through auto drivers

Under the guidance of ACP K. Shashank Reddy and Chilkalguda SHO V. Ramakrishna, Sub-Inspector Chandraiah and Home Guard Officer Pitchaiah took the elderly man to the Moula Ali area for identification.

Police showed him to local auto drivers, who identified him and alerted his sons, Shaik Saleem and Shaik Kaleem. Meanwhile, Kaleem had approached Amberpet Police Station to file a missing complaint before receiving information that his father had been traced.

The family later reached Chilkalguda Police Station, where officers safely handed over Shaik Ismail to his sons. ACP Chilkalguda appreciated the police team for their prompt action and humanitarian efforts.
