No fuel shortage in Telangana, government urges calm

Fuel shortage Telangana denied by government

Hyderabad: The Telangana government clarified that there is no fuel shortage Telangana, stating that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available across the state.

The Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies Department said the supply chain from refineries to local depots is fully operational. Officials added that stocks are sufficient to meet daily demand in all districts.

The department said recent long queues and “No Stock” boards at some fuel stations resulted from panic buying triggered by rumours. It explained that unnecessary rush by consumers to fill tanks created artificial shortages at retail outlets despite sufficient supply at depots.

Officials also noted that recent administrative changes in advance-payment systems by Oil Marketing Companies caused minor logistical adjustments for some dealers. However, they clarified that these changes did not affect fuel availability.

The state and Central governments are monitoring fuel outlets in coordination with Oil Marketing Companies and the police. Authorities warned that strict action would be taken against hoarding, black-marketing, or diversion of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial use.

The government urged citizens to remain calm and avoid panic buying. It advised people to rely only on official communication and not to spread unverified information on social media.

Officials also asked the public to report any irregularities through the Civil Supplies toll-free helpline 1967. They said cooperation from citizens is essential to maintain smooth supply across Telangana.
