Uma rani Takes Charge as Nizamabad Mayor
Hyderabad: A new chapter in civic administration began in Nizamabad as Uma Rani formally assumed charge as Mayor of the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation on Friday. Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, and State Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Goud attended the ceremony and congratulated the newly elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Addressing the gathering, Mohammed Ali Shabbir said the Congress government remains committed to fulfilling people’s aspirations. He also said the government will ensure corruption-free governance. Moreover, he stated that authorities will develop Nizamabad into a model city without any scope for corruption.
Shabbir also expressed confidence that the party would honour the trust placed in it by the people. According to him, citizens supported the Congress after recognising its earlier development efforts.
Nizamabad Mayor pledges clean and inclusive governance
PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud said party workers played a key role in the Mayor’s election. He also said citizens supported the party through their votes. Since Nizamabad is his home ground, he said he understands the issues affecting the city.
Therefore, he assured that the government will provide the necessary support and funds. With this support, he said Nizamabad can emerge as a leading city in infrastructure development. He also described the leadership change as a step toward meaningful transformation in people’s lives.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Goud also reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening local bodies. He advised the Nizamabad Mayor to stay accessible to citizens and respond to public grievances quickly.
Furthermore, he said the government will focus on improving roads, drainage and drinking water facilities. He added that cooperation between the Cabinet and local representatives will drive the city’s development.
Mayor Uma Rani thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and senior party leaders for their support. She promised to work with all sections of society. She also pledged to transform Nizamabad into a clean and beautiful city.
