Telangana power utility strengthened Medaram power supply for festival
Hyderabad: The Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana strengthened the Medaram power supply ahead of the festival to ensure uninterrupted electricity and prevent inconvenience to devotees, senior officials said on Tuesday.
Senior officers said the utility took advance operational measures to handle heavy footfall and sustained power demand throughout the event. As part of the plan, officials converted the Medaram area into a fully illuminated zone and redesigned the Medaram power supply network to remain stable despite continuous usage.
They said the arrangements aimed to prevent even minor disruptions during peak hours, when thousands of devotees were expected to gather at the site. Directors T. Madhusudan and V. Mohan Rao personally supervised the preparations and reviewed field-level readiness with chief engineers K. Raju Chauhan and Ashok.
Large-scale deployment ensured Medaram power supply stability
Officials said more than four superintending engineers, seven divisional engineers and 30 assistant divisional engineers were deployed across key locations to maintain the Medaram power supply. In addition, assistant engineers, sub-engineers and field staff were stationed at all critical points to respond immediately to faults.
They said around 150 to 500 operations and maintenance personnel were assigned duties in three shifts to ensure Medaram power supply stability. Teams worked in batches of 30 employees and carried out continuous line patrolling in their respective jurisdictions.
Engineers and field workers remained on duty round the clock to ensure the Medaram power supply stayed stable during the festivities. Authorities said the sustained effort focused on providing uninterrupted electricity to devotees and ensuring the event concluded without any power-related issues.
