Shabbir Ali urges scientific thinking at Kamareddy science fair
Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Wednesday urged schools to actively promote scientific thinking among students. He said early exposure to innovation is vital for the country’s future.
He made these remarks after inaugurating the 53rd State-level Children’s Science Exhibition and INSPIRE project display at Vidya Niketan School. Notably, the exhibition brought together students from across Telangana. They showcased practical science models and projects.
Building a culture of scientific thinking
Speaking at the event, Shabbir Ali stressed the need to nurture curiosity and creativity at a young age. According to him, science exhibitions help identify hidden talent. Moreover, they boost confidence among students.
He added that many models on display offered practical solutions. In the long run, such ideas could contribute to national development. Therefore, he called on educators to encourage innovation beyond textbooks.
Meanwhile, the exhibition featured projects on sustainable agriculture, water conservation, green energy, and plastic alternatives. It also included themes on mathematics, health, hygiene, and environmental protection. As a result, the event attracted strong interest from teachers, experts, and parents.
Leaders highlight role of science education
At the same event, Suresh Kumar Shetkar said science and technology remain central to national progress. He noted that INSPIRE projects help students develop a research-driven mindset. Furthermore, he cited A. P. J. Abdul Kalam as an example of how proper guidance can shape rural talent.
In addition, several leaders and officials attended the programme. These included MLC Sripal Reddy, former DCC president Kaila Srinivasa Rao, Library Chairman Maddi Chandrakant, and Congress town president Pandla Raju. Teachers, students, parents, and education officials were also present.
Finally, organisers highlighted the role of the INSPIRE Programme. Implemented by the Department of Science and Technology, the initiative aims to promote scientific research and grassroots innovation among schoolchildren nationwide.
