Metro water pipeline burst causes water loss near Karimnagar

Hyderabad: A major Metro water pipeline burst on the outskirts of Jaggayya Palle village in Manakondur mandal of Karimnagar on Thursday. The rupture led to large-scale wastage of drinking water meant for Hyderabad.

The damaged pipeline supplies water from the Yellampally project to the city. After the burst, water gushed out at high pressure and flowed onto nearby palm trees. As a result, several trees were uprooted, local residents said.

Villagers immediately alerted officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. In response, authorities switched off the motors and reduced water pressure to control the leakage. Officials said they are still examining the exact cause of the rupture.
