Harish Rao slams CM Revanth over urea shortage in Telangana
Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS leader Harish Rao strongly criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday over the ongoing urea shortage in Telangana, accusing the government of neglecting the needs of farmers. In a post on social media, Harish Rao shared a video from Dharmaraopet village in Narsampet constituency, showing farmers struggling to obtain urea fertiliser.
He questioned the Chief Minister’s priorities, saying that while farmers stood in long queues for urea, Revanth Reddy was busy with ceremonial events and hollow promises. Rao said the CM, who had visited the same constituency just a day earlier, failed to take note of the crisis on the ground.
Describing the urea crisis as a direct consequence of the government’s failure to plan, Harish Rao said the administration had abandoned its agricultural responsibilities. He accused the government of subjecting farmers, women, and the elderly to hours-long waits for fertiliser, calling it a sign of systemic failure.
BRS demands urgent action to resolve fertiliser supply crisis
Harish Rao warned that the current situation was a repeat of last season’s urea shortage and criticised the government for learning nothing from past failures. He demanded that the state immediately arrange for adequate urea stocks and ensure seamless distribution to farmers across Telangana.
He said the government’s inaction was turning into a curse for farmers, who were already under pressure due to delays and shortages. Rao questioned how the administration expected to achieve its Vision 2047 goals when it could not ensure basic agricultural supplies.
Highlighting the disconnect between government events and grassroots realities, the BRS leader urged CM Revanth Reddy to shift focus from summits and slogans to real issues affecting farmers on the ground.
