Hyderabad: BRS Working President K. Tarakarama Rao (KTR) on Saturday launched the book Girijanula Atmabandhuvu, authored by BRSV State Secretary Srinu Naik. The book chronicles the extensive welfare measures introduced by BRS founder K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for the upliftment of tribal communities in Telangana.

Speaking at the launch event, KTR congratulated Srinu Naik for documenting KCR’s contributions to tribal welfare. He called the services rendered to Adivasi communities “memorable and transformative.” Additionally, he emphasised that KCR’s efforts to grant land rights and social recognition to tribals fulfilled long-standing dreams of the community.

KTR cited key initiatives such as recognising tribal hamlets (tandas and gudems) as village panchayats. Moreover, he mentioned providing 10% reservations based on demographic rise, and issuing land titles for podu lands. The extension of the Rythu Bandhu scheme to these lands was also highlighted.

The BRS leader also highlighted flagship schemes introduced for tribal students. These included the establishment of Gurukuls, the CM-STI program, Giri Vikas, and Giri Poshan. He noted the construction of Adivasi Atma Gaurava Bhavans in Hyderabad as symbols of cultural pride and inclusion.

KTR proposed that August 2, the day tribal hamlets were officially recognised as panchayats, be observed annually as a Tribal Festival Day across all tribal villages in Telangana.

Senior BRS leaders B Vinod Kumar, Ravula Chandra Sekhar Reddy, and BRSV Vice President Tunga Balu were also present at the event.
