Telangana Assembly session from August 30 to debate Kaleshwaram, BC quota

Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly session begins on August 30 and will run for three to five days. The government confirmed that the main agenda includes discussion on the Kaleshwaram project report and the pending issue of 42 percent BC reservations.
The P.C. Ghosh Commission probed the Medigadda barrage collapse for 16 months and submitted its report on July 31. The cabinet has already reviewed the findings. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the Assembly would take up the report and decide the next steps. Opposition leader T. Harish Rao said his party would question the government strongly in the House.
Telangana Assembly session to focus on key issues
The session may also see another bill granting BCs 42 per cent reservation in education and jobs. Two earlier bills and an ordinance on BC quota in local body polls remain pending with the Centre. With a High Court deadline approaching, the issue has gained urgency.
The Kaleshwaram debate is expected to dominate. Observers say the presence or absence of former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao will be politically significant. With both sides preparing for fiery exchanges, the Telangana Assembly session is expected to generate intense discussion.
