Heavy rainfall in Telangana expected as IMD warns of low pressure

Hyderabad: The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Telangana on Tuesday and Wednesday, linked to a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.

The weather office said Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, and Warangal districts are likely to see heavy downpours. Other districts may witness thunderstorms and strong winds reaching 30–40 kmph.

IMD tracks Heavy Rainfall in Telangana trends

Despite early surplus, rainfall dropped in the last five days, raising temperatures. The seasonal surplus of 14 percent recorded by August 18 fell to a nine percent deficit by Monday.

Nirmal reported a 44 percent shortfall, followed by Peddapalli at 21 percent. Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Nalgonda posted 13 percent deficits, while Nizamabad and Mancherial showed 12 and 10 percent respectively. Sangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded smaller declines.
