Ponguleti promises Indiramma houses for all eligible poor in three years
Hyderabad: Telangana Revenue, Information and Public Relations, and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the state government will provide Indiramma houses to all eligible poor families within the next three years.
Speaking at the Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika programme in Dammayigudem village of Tirumalayapalem mandal on Friday, the minister said the government has taken responsibility to ensure housing for every eligible poor household. District Collector Anudeep Durishetty also attended the programme.
Ponguleti said the government has implemented several welfare programmes since the formation of the people’s government two years and three months ago. He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the administration continues to prioritise welfare measures and development works across the state.
The minister said officials are focusing on improving infrastructure in villages and towns. They are developing roads, drainage systems and other basic facilities on priority. The government has also launched a 99-day programme to address local problems and speed up development works at the grassroots level.
Indiramma houses promise part of wider welfare push
Ponguleti said the government has already fulfilled several promises made during the elections. These include issuing new ration cards, sanctioning 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses, and supplying fine rice through the public distribution system.
He said the government will release another phase of Indiramma houses in April. Over the next three years, the administration plans to extend the scheme to every eligible poor family in the state.
The minister also assured residents that officials will resolve the electricity problem in Dammayigudem village by the next day. He added that the government will develop the village as a model settlement under the 99-day programme.
