Harish Rao challenges Congress to hold MPTC, ZPTC elections

MPTC ZPTC elections

Hyderabad: Former minister and senior BRS leader T Harish Rao on Wednesday challenged the Congress government to immediately conduct MPTC and ZPTC elections in Telangana.

Speaking at a felicitation programme for BRS-backed sarpanches and deputy sarpanches in Narsapur, Harish Rao alleged that the government was avoiding the polls due to fear of defeat. He said the Congress lacked confidence after BRS-backed candidates won more than 4,000 sarpanch posts in gram panchayat elections.

Harish Rao accused the Congress of resorting to intimidation and misuse of official machinery during the elections. Despite this, he said BRS candidates achieved significant success. He asserted that BRS was not just a political party but a mass movement that no force could destroy.

Harish Rao said free and fair elections would have delivered even bigger victories for the BRS. He predicted that party chief K Chandrashekar Rao would return as chief minister within two years. He said the pink flag would soon rise across the state.

The former minister also warned government and police officials against targeting BRS leaders and workers. He said the party would hold them accountable after returning to power. He alleged that the Congress government had failed on every front and ignored public hardships.

Targeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Harish Rao said public spectacles brought no real benefit to citizens. He remarked that people would soon respond politically and teach the Congress a lesson.

MLA Sunitha Laxma Reddy, BRS leader C Prabhakar, and other party leaders attended the event.
