Gachibowli drug party busted, 12 detained in joint police operation
Hyderabad: A Gachibowli drug party was busted during a joint operation by the EAGLE Force and Cyberabad Police, leading to the detention of 12 persons at a private property in the early hours, police said.
The operation was conducted at Kovestays in Gachibowli, where a reunion party was underway. Police detained all 12 participants and subjected them to medical screening. Five individuals tested positive for ganja consumption during urine tests, confirming drug use at the gathering.
Officials said no narcotic substances were recovered from the spot during the raid. However, police stated that drug consumption was medically established based on test results. Those detained included several professionals working in the hotel industry, according to investigators.
Case registered in Gachibowli drug party probe
Police also confirmed that one police official was among those detained during the operation. Following the raid, a case was registered as Crime No. 41 of 2026 at the Gachibowli Police Station.
Investigators said further inquiry was underway to determine the source of the drugs and the circumstances under which the party was organised. Police said action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
