BRS on Minority Declaration: Sohail Slams Revanth’s Tokenism

Minority Declaration

Hyderabad: BRS senior leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail has accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of using former cricketer Md Azharuddin’s induction as minister to mask the Congress government’s failure to deliver on its Minority Declaration.

Speaking to reporters, Sohail said the Congress had practised “tokenism over transformation.” “The Chief Minister is projecting inclusion after two years of neglect. It is not justice; it’s political damage control,” he said.

Sohail says BRS on Minority Declaration exposes hollow promises of Congress rule

Sohail alleged that the 1,000-crore subsidised-loan scheme for minority youth and women, the core of the Declaration, had seen zero implementation. “Not one beneficiary, not one rupee this is deceit, not delay,” he stated.

He said the 300 crore allocated in 202425 remained mostly unspent, with just 1 lakh spent on office costs. “Budgets without disbursals are lies on paper. Inclusion is not optics; it’s delivery,” Sohail remarked.

The BRS leader said that small business owners in Hyderabad’s Old City and districts such as Nizamabad and Adilabad had been pushed toward moneylenders as government aid dried up. “Revanth’s empowerment exists only on posters,” he said.

On education, Sohail pointed to the stalled Abdul Kalam Taufa-e-Taleem scheme. “Two years of excuses have produced no scholarships, no opportunities,” he said, calling the government’s approach “development by denial.”

He mocked new schemes like Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana and Revanth Anna ka Sahara as “cosmetic attempts to buy time.” “30 crore spent out of thousands promised and applications online, excluding the poor,” he added.

Comparing both parties, Sohail said BRS policies under K Chandrashekar Rao had delivered steady support despite fiscal limits. “We focused on consistent aid. This Congress regime dismantled that system,” he claimed.

He demanded full implementation of the 1,000-crore scheme and revival of educational aid. “Empowerment means results, not ribbon-cutting. Telangana’s Muslims want delivery, not decoration,” he said.

Calling upon Jubilee Hills voters, he urged them to question Congress leaders directly. “Ask them about the Minority Declaration. Revanth Reddy can fool cameras, not communities,” he declared.
