BRS insulted Constitution, Speaker: MA Faheem
Hyderabad: MA Faheem, Chairman of the Food Corporation and Vice President of TPCC, accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of insulting the Constitution by staging what he called a deliberate political drama at BRS Bhavan. According to him, the incident disrespected the Speaker, the Chief Minister, and opposition leaders in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Calling the episode unacceptable, Faheem said the conduct at BRS Bhavan directly attacked constitutional institutions. He questioned how BRS could speak about moral values while showing alleged disrespect to the Speaker, a constitutional authority from the Dalit community. He stressed that the Speaker holds a dignified and constitutionally mandated position.
Highlighting what he described as hypocrisy, Faheem recalled how leaders elected from other parties later joined BRS. He referred to former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and questioned why someone he labelled as anti-Telangana received a ministerial post.
Referring to past events, Faheem mentioned incidents involving PCC leaders. He cited the arrests and actions taken against Revanth Reddy and Kodandaram and questioned BRS’s silence on moral values during that period.
Faheem also accused BRS of repeatedly betraying Dalits. He said the party failed to fulfil promises such as appointing a Dalit Chief Minister and distributing three acres of land. He further recalled the Nerella incident as an example.
Concluding his remarks, Faheem said the Congress party would hold internal discussions. He added that the party would decide its future course of action regarding the alleged drama staged against the Speaker.
