BRS alleges Congress coercion before Jubilee Hills bypoll
Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail accused the Telangana Congress government of coercion and misuse of power ahead of the Jubilee Hills bypoll. He claimed that party workers were being harassed and voters intimidated through illegal raids and detentions.
Sohail said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had “turned governance into intimidation.” “Instead of addressing public concerns, the Chief Minister is leading a campaign of fear. Our supporters are detained without reason, homes raided, and people threatened just for supporting BRS,” he said.
BRS questions fairness of Jubilee Hills bypoll
Sohail alleged that Congress was distributing money to influence voters. “Bundles of cash are being circulated in Jubilee Hills to buy votes. Fake videos are being shared to tarnish BRS. This is not a fair election; it is an attempt to silence democracy,” he said.
He said that despite this, BRS’s campaign led by K. T. Rama Rao had connected with voters. “In one month, BRS leaders have met every voter thrice. We rely on credibility, not cash,” he said.
He praised late MLA Maganti Gopinath’s work and said his widow, Maganti Sunitha, was continuing his legacy. “Every vote for Sunitha is for democracy and Telangana’s pride,” he said.
