ACB trap officials caught taking Rs 60,000 bribe

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trap two Irrigation Department officials in Adilabad while they were allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 on Thursday.

The ACB Adilabad Range trap team arrested Executive Engineer Rathod Vittal and Assistant Engineer Prakash during the operation. According to the ACB, the officials accepted the bribe from a complainant before the team caught them red-handed.

The bureau registered the case and initiated further legal action. Meanwhile, ACB officials also began searches at the residence of Executive Engineer Rathod Vittal in Neredmet, Hyderabad.

ACB trap officials face further investigation

The ACB said the investigation will continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged bribery case. Officials are also examining evidence collected during the trap operation and the subsequent searches.

The bureau has not released additional details about the complainant or the purpose of the alleged bribe. Further information is expected after the investigation progresses.
