Cyberabad CP meets traffic-trained police personnel
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M. Ramesh, IPS, on Monday met 150 traffic-trained police personnel at the Cyberabad Commissionerate headquarters and urged them to perform their duties efficiently while ensuring courteous interaction with the public.
The personnel, drawn from the Greyhounds force, recently completed a week-long special training programme for traffic management duties within the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits. During the interaction, the Commissioner reviewed the training modules and discussed the key lessons learned during the programme.
Dr Ramesh advised the personnel to focus on effective traffic regulation and maintain professional conduct while dealing with commuters. He also highlighted the importance of implementing traffic control measures in a disciplined and systematic manner.
The Commissioner said the training programme covered traffic management, traffic engineering and legal aspects through both indoor and outdoor sessions. He added that officers were trained on enforcing rules related to helmet use, lane discipline, wrong-side driving and drunken driving.
Traffic-trained police personnel urged to improve road safety
Dr Ramesh instructed the personnel to initiate legal action against individuals who obstruct traffic duties. He also stressed the need to create greater public awareness about traffic regulations to prevent road accidents.
The Commissioner noted that road accidents continue to cause severe hardship to families. Therefore, he urged every officer to educate the public about responsible driving practices and road safety measures.
He pointed out that traffic congestion remains a major challenge in the IT corridor areas and directed the personnel to remain alert while performing duties in high-density zones. He also advised them to stay vigilant during the monsoon season and ensure that commuters do not face inconvenience due to weather-related disruptions.
The Commissioner further asked the officers to serve the public with dedication and provide immediate assistance whenever required. He said such efforts would strengthen public trust in the police department and enhance its reputation through professional conduct and effective service delivery.
Administrative DCP T. Annapurna, SB DCP Sudheendra, Traffic DCP Sheshadri Reddy, Cyber Crime DCP Sai Manohar, CAR and Headquarters DCP Sanjeev, Serilingampally Traffic Additional DCP Hanumantha Rao and Traffic Administration Additional DCP Narender were among the officials present at the programme.
