BJP Delimitation Conspiracy Alleged by MP Vamsi Krishna

Hyderabad: Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging that the proposed delimitation exercise is a calculated move to strengthen its political base in northern states while weakening South India’s voice.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament in New Delhi, Vamsi Krishna claimed that the BJP Delimitation Conspiracy is aimed at reshaping electoral representation for political advantage. He said the party is unable to secure electoral success in the southern region and is therefore attempting to increase its seat share in the north.

He further highlighted what he described as an imbalance between South India’s financial contribution and its representation in Parliament. According to him, the South contributes significantly more in financial terms compared to its population-based representation, yet continues to face neglect.

Moreover, Vamsi Krishna criticised the Centre for continuing to utilise funds generated from southern states while allegedly sidelining their political importance. He questioned the logic behind seeking financial contributions from the region while disregarding its electoral voice.

Referring to past struggles, he warned that Telangana would not remain silent. He recalled the agitation that led to the formation of Telangana and stated that similar protests could be reignited if representation is compromised.

He also termed the delimitation move as a “Jhumla,” asserting that it is designed to suppress the democratic voice of the South. Emphasising constitutional values, he said the state would continue to raise its concerns in Parliament, invoking the principles of equality advocated by B. R. Ambedkar.

In conclusion, Vamsi Krishna questioned the Centre’s approach, arguing that if southern votes are not valued, then the financial contributions of the region should also not be utilised.
