Journalist society aid supports Swetha family with ₹1 lakh
Hyderabad: Members of the Journalist Co-operative Housing Society extended Swetha family aid, providing additional financial support to the family of “Swetha,” a managing committee member who died in June last year.
The managing committee members handed over ₹50,000 to Swetha’s father, Shankaranna, on Tuesday. The amount was meant to support her daughter’s education and meet household expenses. Earlier, the committee had already provided ₹50,000 to the family soon after her death.
Officials said the total assistance now stands at ₹1 lakh. They clarified that the entire amount was mobilised through personal contributions from managing committee members.
The initiative reflected continued support from colleagues who had worked closely with Swetha during her tenure in the society.
Swetha family aid focuses on education support
The Swetha family aid initiative prioritised the education of her daughter, along with addressing immediate financial needs. Members noted that ensuring continuity in education remained a key concern after Swetha’s passing.
During the interaction, committee members assured Shankaranna that they would continue to stand by the family in the future. They reiterated their commitment to providing assistance whenever required.
The society members described the support as part of their collective responsibility towards the family of a colleague. They added that such efforts aimed to offer stability and reassurance during difficult circumstances.
