‘Arrive Alive’ road safety campaign held at Jalavihar with massive bike rally

Arrive Alive campaign held at Jalavihar in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police organised the “Arrive Alive – A Campaign for Road Safety” at Jalavihar on Saturday morning with the objective of reducing road accidents and creating public awareness on traffic safety norms.

The programme was conducted under the aegis of the Khairatabad and Secunderabad traffic zones. Joel Davis, Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad, attended as the chief guest, while actor Nikhil Siddharth participated as the special guest. Avinash Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic-1, was also present.

A massive bike rally with 300 riders was flagged off by the dignitaries as part of the Arrive Alive campaign. Additional DCP Ande Ramulu, ACPs S. Mohan Kumar and A. Srinivas, along with other traffic officials, participated in the launch.

Arrive Alive campaign highlights helmet use and traffic discipline

Addressing the gathering, Joel Davis said the use of ISI-marked helmets was mandatory for both riders and pillion passengers. He expressed concern that nearly 8,000 people lost their lives in road accidents last year and urged citizens to strictly follow speed limits and traffic rules.

Avinash Kumar cautioned parents against allowing minors to drive vehicles. He said driving licences and adequate driving skills were essential before taking to the roads. Nikhil Siddharth said road safety was a collective responsibility and appealed to youth to lead by example by adhering to traffic regulations.

The Arrive Alive campaign witnessed participation from more than 1,000 people, including traffic police personnel, NCC students, CRT Bike Riders Association members and the general public.
