Fake ticket racket at Shamshabad Airport, 8 arrested
Hyderabad: Airport authorities uncovered a fake ticket racket at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. Officials detected forged air tickets carried by multiple passengers and detained eight people.
According to airport officials, the passengers arrived at the terminal to board their flights. During document verification, staff noticed discrepancies in their tickets. A detailed check confirmed that the tickets were forged.
Officials immediately detained the eight passengers and handed them over to airport police for further action. The incident caused concern at the airport and led authorities to intensify document checks.
Fake ticket racket under police investigation
RGIA police said they have launched an investigation into the case. Officers are examining how the accused obtained the fake tickets. Police are also probing the possible role of an organised gang in supplying forged tickets.
Officials said investigators will question the detained persons and examine digital and payment records linked to the tickets. Airport authorities added that they are strengthening security measures to prevent similar incidents.
