Malakpet traffic diversions for elevated corridor work

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police announced traffic diversions due to the construction of an elevated corridor from Malakpet Fire Station to Yadagiri Theatre. The diversions will begin on January 15, 2026, and will remain in force for about 60 days.

As part of the project, authorities will close one side of the road from Saidabad Y Junction to I.S. Sadan Junction. Specifically, traffic from Saidabad Y Junction towards Dobhighat will remain restricted throughout the construction period.

Meanwhile, traffic police urged commuters to avoid the stretch from Nalgonda X Road to Owaisi Hospital (DMRL Junction). Officials expect heavy congestion on nearby roads and junctions during peak hours.

Therefore, traffic police advised the public to plan journeys in advance. They also requested commuters to use alternate routes to reduce inconvenience.

Traffic from Nalgonda X Road towards Saidabad Y Junction and moving to Santosh Nagar or I.S. Sadan will be diverted. Vehicles must take the route via the DCP South East Zone office, Saidabad Law and Order Police Station, Saraswathi Nagar Kaman, Sankeswar Bazar, Singareni Colony, and Champapet Main Road. However, authorities will allow only four-wheelers, RTC buses, and heavy goods vehicles on this route.

Similarly, two- and three-wheelers travelling from Chanchalguda to Saidabad Y Junction and heading towards I.S. Sadan will follow a different diversion. These vehicles must pass through Saidabad Law and Order Police Station, 105 Bus Stop, Ramalayam Kaman, Laxmi Nagar, Biscuit Factory, and Dobhighat Junction. In addition, two- and three-wheelers heading towards Champapet will move via Vinay Nagar and Bharath Garden.

Malakpet traffic diversions for RTC buses and heavy vehicles

RTC buses travelling from Chaderghat towards I.S. Sadan and Champapet will divert at Nalgonda X Road. They will proceed via Malakpet Gunj, Moosarambagh X Road, Gaddiannaram, Saroornagar Lake area, Singareni Colony, and Champapet Main Road.

Likewise, district RTC buses and heavy vehicles travelling from MGBS and Chaderghat towards I.S. Sadan and Champapet will divert at Nalgonda X Road. They will take the route through Malakpet Gunj, Moosarambagh, Dilsukhnagar, Kothapet, and LB Nagar Chowrasta.
