Deputy mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy reviews civic issues under Basti Bata
Hyderabad: Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy directed officials to take immediate steps to resolve long-pending civic issues during her inspection of localities in the Tarnaka division under the Basti Bata programme on Tuesday.
As part of the outreach, she toured Vinoba Nagar, Siripur Nagar Colony and parts of Lalapet. During interactions with residents, the deputy mayor reviewed complaints related to sanitation, roads and basic amenities. In Vinoba Nagar, locals raised concerns over a drainage problem that had persisted for several years. She discussed the issue on site and instructed officials to initiate road development and restore the drainage network without delay.
She also visited Siripur Nagar Colony, where she inspected the community hall and reviewed its current condition. Officials were asked to complete pending inspections and allocate funds from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation resources so that the facility could be made available for public meetings and social programmes.
Basti Bata programme highlights infrastructure gaps in Tarnaka division
During the Basti Bata programme, the deputy mayor personally examined nala desilting and nala widening works in the area. She stressed the need for permanent solutions to prevent inconvenience to residents and asked officials to ensure that works were completed in a time-bound manner. Emphasising accountability, she said civic problems flagged by the public would be treated as a priority.
Addressing residents, Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy stated that prompt action would be taken on all genuine grievances. She added that sustained efforts would be made to develop the Tarnaka division as a model urban constituency.
