Pregnant Woman’s Body Stopped From Entering Village
Hyderabad: A shocking incident occurred in Lingagudem village of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, where villagers allegedly stopped the body of a pregnant woman from entering the village due to superstitious beliefs.
According to family members, Lalitha, who was pregnant, died due to illness. However, BRS leader Prabhakar allegedly blocked the family from bringing her body into the village. He reportedly claimed that allowing the body of a pregnant woman inside the village would cause harm.
Because of this obstruction, the family kept Lalitha’s body outside the village throughout the night. Later, they performed the last rites outside the village in the early hours of the morning.
The family expressed anguish over the treatment and demanded strict action against Prabhakar. They held him responsible for denying the woman dignity even after death.
They also raised serious questions about the future, asking whether villagers would force last rites for all deceased persons outside the village, irrespective of caste or circumstances.
The family further demanded that Prabhakar publicly admit that his actions were wrong and apologise for the incident.
