Uttam Kumar Reddy Addresses Vanitha Pharmacy Event

Hyderabad: Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday said the Exhibition Society had made a strong contribution to nation-building. He said it had been providing quality education for over six decades through 20 institutions. He was speaking as the chief guest at the Silver Jubilee Graduation Day programme of Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy College in Tarnaka.

The minister said the institution’s UGC autonomous status reflected its academic credibility. He added that NBA accreditation and NAAC A+ grade further underlined its standards. According to him, these achievements strengthened the Exhibition Society’s role in Telangana’s pharmaceutical ecosystem.

Uttam Kumar Reddy outlines Telangana Rising 2047 vision

Meanwhile, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Hyderabad had emerged as a global hub for bulk drug production. As a result, large employment opportunities were being created for pharmacy graduates. He said the government was working with the long-term vision of “Telangana Rising 2047”. Under this vision, Hyderabad was being developed as a global capital of life sciences.

Further, he said industrial growth was being taken beyond Hyderabad. He referred to the Green Pharma City project in this context. In addition, special pharma villages were being developed in Vikarabad, Medak, and Nalgonda districts. He said the Life Sciences Roadmap 2030 aimed to attract Rs 1 lakh crore in investments and generate five lakh jobs.

At the same time, the minister said the government was focusing on emerging sectors. These included cell and gene therapy, mRNA vaccines, biologics, and AI-based drug discovery. He added that a proposal to establish a dedicated Life Sciences University was also under active consideration.

Finally, congratulating the graduating students of 2025, Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed confidence in their future. He said they would play a key role in strengthening Telangana’s pharmaceutical sector. He also assured them of full support from the state government.
