SHE Teams action at Nampally Exhibition

Hyderabad: SHE Teams action Nampally Exhibition led to 52 convictions after officials caught 264 offenders during the 85th Nampally Exhibition held from 1st January 2026 to 15th February 2026. The teams acted under the supervision of Smt. Dr. Lavanya NJP, DCP, Women Safety Wing, to curb eve teasing and harassment at the venue.

Officials maintained constant surveillance and conducted decoy operations throughout the exhibition period. As a result, teams caught 242 major offenders and 22 minors red-handed. Subsequently, officers counselled 188 offenders in the presence of their family members and let them off with strict warnings.

However, police booked 56 petty cases against those involved in serious misconduct. Legal proceedings led to 52 convictions with a fine of Rs. 1,050 each. In addition, courts awarded four offenders two days in jail along with a Rs. 1,000 fine. The remaining cases are pending disposal.

Surveillance and awareness drive during SHE Teams action Nampally Exhibition

Alongside enforcement, SHE Teams action Nampally Exhibition focused on preventive education and public awareness. During the exhibition period, the teams conducted 385 awareness programmes at the SHE Teams stall, schools, colleges and other public places.

Moreover, officials carried out 2,046 observation drives across crowded and sensitive areas in the city. They also organised 414 AV vehicle awareness programmes, reaching thousands of visitors at the exhibition and across Hyderabad.

SHE Teams urged citizens to remain alert against fake online profiles and identity fraud. They advised people to avoid oversharing personal details on social media and to use strong passwords with two-factor authentication.

Importantly, officials asked victims not to remain silent about harassment, stalking or threats. They assured confidentiality, swift action and legal support for complainants.
