Shabbir Ali Reignites Political Clash with KTR and BRS

Hyderabad: In a fiery address during the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign, senior Congress leader Shabbir Ali reignited his political clash with K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing them of betraying minorities and aligning with the BJP on national issues.

Speaking at Yousufguda before a large minority gathering, Shabbir Ali dismissed KTR’s recent expressions of sympathy over his Cabinet exclusion as insincere. “KTR has no right to talk about me. His family worked to end my political career in Kamareddy and is now showing fake concern,” he said.

He recalled that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) contested from Kamareddy solely to defeat him. “I fought for 4 per cent Muslim reservation. KCR’s entry into Kamareddy was meant to silence me,” he said.

Shabbir Ali accuses BRS of double standards on secularism

The Congress leader alleged that KCR’s move forced his shift to Nizamabad Urban while Revanth Reddy contested from Kamareddy. “It was a move born of fear, not confidence,” he remarked.

He accused KCR of manipulating defections in the Legislative Council to weaken the Congress. “After such conduct, KTR’s sympathy is hollow,” he said.

Shabbir Ali charged the BRS with supporting the BJP on 14 key parliamentary bills while posturing as secular. “People must decide between Congress, which stood firm, and BRS, which knelt before Modi,” he declared.

He noted that KCR failed to deliver on his 2014 promise to enhance Muslim reservations and that most minority colleges were shut down under BRS rule.

Praising Congress’s record, he said the 4 per cent reservation policy created over 22 lakh professionals and offered new opportunities to students. “Congress built educational institutions; KCR destroyed them,” he said.

The event was attended by TPCC President B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Md Azharuddin, and other leaders.
