Sankranti celebrations held grandly at Naravaripalli village

Sankranti celebrations organised in Naravaripalli

Hyderabad: Naravaripalli village in Chandragiri mandal of Tirupati district celebrated Sankranti with grandeur on Tuesday, showcasing vibrant rural culture and traditional festive spirit.

As part of the celebrations, organisers held special rangoli competitions exclusively for women. Participants displayed their creativity through colourful muggu designs featuring Sankranti symbols such as Purnakumbham and Haridasu. The designs attracted wide appreciation from villagers and visitors.

Organisers also conducted various rural sports competitions for children at the village sports ground. The events included potato gathering, balloon games, gunny bag walking, musical chairs, lemon-in-spoon, tail picking, and self-defence activities. Officials arranged the competitions by age group to ensure maximum participation.

Sankranti celebrations draw prominent leaders

Several prominent leaders visited the venue and watched the competitions. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, his wife Bhuvaneshwari, Minister Nara Lokesh, Nara Brahmani, MP Bharat with his wife Tejaswini, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy, SHAP Chairman Ammineni Ravi Naidu, Tirupati District Collector Dr Venkateshwar, and District SP Subbarayudu attended the event.

Organisers distributed prizes to children and participants who excelled in the competitions. The celebrations created a lively atmosphere and strongly reflected the village’s cultural heritage and traditions.
