Narayanpet suicide case leaves two children dead

Hyderabad: A Narayanpet suicide case shocked the district after a man allegedly killed his two young children and later attempted to end his life in Marikal mandal, police sources said.

The incident occurred in Tileru village of Marikal mandal in Narayanpet district. The man, identified as Shivaramulu, was reportedly living separately from his wife for the past six years. Locals said he was upset that his wife refused to return to his home.

According to preliminary information, Shivaramulu allegedly killed his children—Ritwika, aged 8, and Chaitanya, aged 5—and disposed of their bodies in the Koil Sagar canal. He later contacted villagers and informed them about the incident, prompting shock and alarm in the area.

The children’s deaths triggered panic in the village, and residents alerted authorities. Police said they were verifying the sequence of events and awaiting further details.

Narayanpet suicide case under police investigation

After allegedly killing the children, Shivaramulu attempted suicide, police said. He first tried to end his life by holding live electric wires but survived the attempt.

Later, he consumed insecticide. Villagers who noticed his condition shifted him to the Mahabubnagar Government Hospital for treatment. His condition and further developments were awaited.

Police said a detailed investigation was underway to establish the circumstances that led to the Narayanpet suicide case. Officials added that more information would be shared after completing initial inquiries.
