Moinabad house demolitions row: allegations of assault on pregnant woman surface

Moinabad house demolitions: assault claims emerge

Hyderabad: Serious allegations have emerged in the Moinabad house demolitions case after residents accused a woman police officer of assaulting a pregnant woman during the demolition drive targeting Lambada community houses.

The incident occurred about a week ago in Peddamangalaram village under Moinabad jurisdiction. Officials demolished houses built by Lambada families on plots located in survey numbers 210, 211, and 212.

Affected residents said the families had purchased the plots through local transactions and constructed houses by investing their life savings. They alleged that officials arrived with police support and demolished the structures, leaving several families homeless.

Residents said tensions rose when women questioned the demolition. One woman alleged that a woman police officer struck her on the stomach despite knowing she was pregnant. The incident reportedly caused panic among family members and neighbours.

Revenue survey numbers at centre of Moinabad house demolitions

Revenue officials stated that they carried out the demolitions based on land records linked to survey numbers 210, 211, and 212. However, Lambada families alleged that authorities acted without issuing proper notices and ignored their appeals during the drive.

Local leaders and community representatives demanded action against those responsible for the alleged assault. They also sought compensation and rehabilitation for the displaced families. Officials said they have begun further inquiries into the allegations raised by the residents.
