Mega e-waste sanitation drive continues for second day in GHMC limits

Mega e-waste drive continues across GHMC areas

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation continued its mega e-waste drive for the second straight day across the city. Officials intensified collections through special vehicles and designated counters.

GHMC teams collected discarded electronic items directly from residents. The drive aims to ensure safe disposal and prevent environmental damage. Meanwhile, officials said public response remained encouraging.

On the first day, authorities collected 47 metric tonnes of electronic waste from different parts of the city. This figure reflects strong citizen participation.

To improve access, GHMC deployed special collection vehicles across its circles. In addition, officials set up counters at key locations for easy disposal. The drive forms part of a broader plan to promote scientific e-waste management and reduce health risks.

Therefore, GHMC officials urged residents to continue supporting the initiative. They advised citizens to hand over electronic waste responsibly instead of dumping it in open areas or regular bins.
