Medak district athletes shine in Telangana state cross country meet
Hyderabad: Medak district athletes put up an impressive show at the Telangana 11th State Cross Country Championship on Friday. They emerged as district champions in the Under-20 girls 8 km category, officials said.
Athletes from across Telangana competed in the state-level championship at the GMC Balayogi Stadium. District Athletics Association Secretary Madhusudhan and coach Arjun said disciplined training and consistent effort helped the Medak team stand out.
In the Under-20 girls 8 km race, Medak clinched the overall district title. Banoth Anita, a student of TG TWRD College in Medak, secured second place in the same category and added to the district’s medal count.
Medak district athletes to compete at national-level meet in Ranchi
Telangana Athletics Association State Secretary Sarangapani and Organising Secretary Venkateswar Reddy presented the trophy to the winning team. Officials congratulated the athletes and coaches for their strong performance.
The Medak athletes will now represent the district at the national-level cross country meet in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on January 24. Coaches said they have already begun preparations to ensure competitive performances at the national event.
