Liquor sales banned in Railapur village

Hyderabad: Railapur village in Ramayampet mandal of Medak district imposed a complete ban on liquor sales after the Gram Sabha passed a unanimous resolution on Friday. The resolution fixed a fine of ₹1 lakh on anyone who sells liquor in the village.

The Gram Sabha met under the chairmanship of Sarpanch Gattu Sushila. During the meeting, members decided to stop liquor sales across the village and enforce strict penalties to ensure compliance.

The Gram Sabha also banned the sale of cigarettes to children below 18 years. Members warned shop owners of strict action if they sell tobacco products to minors.

Liquor sales banned in Railapur with focus on public safety

Along with the liquor ban, members decided to act firmly against rash driving and overspeeding within village limits. They cited public safety as the main reason for the decision. The Gram Sabha passed all resolutions unanimously.

Deputy Sarpanch Prashant and ward members Mahesh, Ramulu, Sunitha, Shankar and others attended the meeting. Villagers welcomed the decisions and said the measures would improve discipline and safety in Railapur.
