Jubilee Hills chain snatching case solved, two arrested
Hyderabad: Police solved a Jubilee Hills chain snatching case and arrested two accused persons, including a woman, for allegedly snatching a 1 tola gold chain from a pedestrian on February 17.
The case was registered as Crime No. 97/2026 under Section 304(2) of the BNS at Jubilee Hills Police Station. The accused were identified as Chesetti Revathi, 33, a housewife from Sanath Nagar, and Giddala Narendra alias Nani, 23, a Rapido rider from Sanath Nagar.
According to police, the incident occurred at about 9.30 am when the complainant, Kadapala Manasa, was walking from her hostel to her office, Vestrics Solutions, on Road No. 39. When she reached Road No. 44 near RTV Channel, the two accused approached her on a Suzuki Access 125 bearing registration number AP39BF9269.
Police said Narendra drove the vehicle while Revathi rode pillion. After noticing the gold chain around the victim’s neck, Revathi allegedly signalled to Narendra. She then snatched the chain weighing about 10 grams, and the duo fled the spot on the motorcycle.
Police recover property in Jubilee Hills chain snatching
During the investigation, police traced and apprehended both accused. Officers recovered the stolen gold chain, an Oppo cellphone linked to the case, two additional mobile phones and the Suzuki Access 125 used in the offence.
Police said the case is under investigation by Sub-Inspector J. Sathish of Jubilee Hills Police Station under the guidance of SHO U. Srinivasulu Reddy and Detective Inspector M. Satyanarayana. Assistant Commissioner of Police S. Venkat Reddy and Deputy Commissioner of Police A. Ramana Reddy of West Zone supervised the probe.
Jubilee Hills Police urged citizens to remain vigilant, especially during early morning and late night hours. They advised people to avoid secluded areas and report suspicious activity through Dial 100 or by contacting the nearest police station.
