Criminal Cases Filed Over Illegal Nalla Connections
Hyderabad: The Metro Water Board vigilance wing booked nine people for taking illegal Nalla connections in Hyderabad city, officials said on Thursday.
The cases came to light in the Sitarambag area under the Water Board Operations and Maintenance Division No. 4, Red Hills Low-Eleven section. GHMC recently carried out road construction work in the locality. During the works, officials detected the unauthorised drain connections.
Officials said all nine houses already had authorised water connections. However, the residents drew 15 illegal Nalla connections from the Metro Water Board pipeline without permission.
Vigilance officials reported the matter to Water Board Managing Director Ashok Reddy. Following his instructions, officials removed the illegal connections and registered criminal cases against the nine persons.
The Metro Water Board urged the public to report illegal connections to the vigilance wing by calling 99899 98100 or 99899 87135.
