Hyderabad: A severe blaze in the Tai Po district of Hong Kong triggered a major emergency response. The fire started in one building during the afternoon. It then spread across six additional towers. Dense smoke filled the area within minutes. Residents tried to escape as conditions worsened. Many called emergency services for help.
Authorities reported 44 deaths. They also stated that over 250 residents remain missing. A firefighter lost his life. Several personnel required medical attention. The government evacuated more than 900 people. Many others were taken to temporary shelters. Large teams continued search operations into the night.
Rescue teams expand efforts amid the Hong Kong fire incident

The Wang Fuk Court estate includes 1,984 units and nearly 4,000 residents. Authorities shifted many victims to government shelters. Support systems remain active for affected families.
